Years after the reunification a lot of things start to fade in the memory of people as the children born after are already adults by now.

It is time to preserve the good as well as the bad , stories and tales for young people and visitors unfamiliar with the daily life during the 40 years of the GDR.

That’s why we opened on May 1st 2011 the DDR Museum on the 6th floor of “MÖBEL Müller”

We would like to share a glimpse of life during this period based on the exhibits and information boards provided. All exhibits are placed along a timeline. The further you venture into the museum the closer you get to the founding year of 1949.
